Apple store in Dublin, at long last
Here
Most articles seem to be cut and paste with the same info but here are my reasons why its on the way
1 There isn't one at the mo in the largest city on the island of Ireland
2 Spectra on College Green just closed last week, losing the almost standalone Apple retailer. You have to go northside to PC World in Jervis Street for instore apple purchases. With Spectras demise, the opportunity it ripe
3 They will need a bold retail presence when they announce job cuts in Apple in Cork...... Hmmmm stay tuned...
4 Property prices are falling to a more realistic level so Apple might buy and develop for the long term
5 Physical Presence is like advertising. Dublin is a good tourist destination so by association, both benefit.
6 Territorial advantage... Dublin is a capital city with a healthy student population who will be entering the job / commercial market with an appetite of what Apple are about
My choice of location.....
The vacant Habitat building, formerly Bank of Ireland 34 College green. Two store fronts, one opposite Trinity which would give a much needed retail boost to Dame St. The other front, Suffolk St, would lead to Grafton St. Split level, leaving room for the theatre / lecture space.... and a possibly a food outlet... Chill out and buy a latte & iPod....
oh and can I have an invite to the opening......

LONG BEACH SECURITY OFFICER SAYS SHE “DOESN’T CARE ABOUT THE LAW” AND CITY OF SNOHOMISH SETTLES FOR $8,000 WITH PHOTOGRAPHER OVER WRONGFUL DETENTION
The video above is a video from a Discarted.com altercation with a private security guard over a photographer’s right to shoot in public. This video was taken as part of a National Photographers Rights rally in the Port of Long Beach, a place where both security guards and police frequently harass photographers shooting in public. After telling the photographers that they are not allowed to photograph the refinery, the security agent proceeds to tell them that she “doesn’t care about the law.”
